EXCELLENT - This is a professional business: appointments are kept and on time, details are explained, questions are completely answered, workers are polite and personally quiet, a supervisor is present should any difficulties arise, the job site is thoroughly cleaned upon completion. Suggestion: Should Mr. Marshall suggest a color other than the one you choose, give his suggestion serious consideration. I did and neighbors, without knowing my roof had been replaced, asked when I had the time to paint the trim, window frames and door because they really stood out and the house looks excellent. This company is not out to sell you a roof, either. Numerous times Mr. Marshall stated that my roof could be repaired and would most likely last another eight years or so. Repair cost would have been 10% of the new roof cost but I decided to replace the entire roof.

We went into this having heard of many contractor nightmare stories but you overdelivered in many ways. The quality of the shingles you recommended are outstanding. It is going to be difficult to express our feelings about Bill Marshall and his roofing company in a short, sweet and hard-to-beat way, while at the same time doing justice to him. We have been proud homeowners since we bought our first home in Kansas City, Missouri, in 1972. We only lived in that home 4 years before moving out of state. We have owned 3 additional homes since then and like many other people we have talked with over the years, the most difficult part of owning a home has been finding honest, competent and dependable people to do work that's needed to maintain our home. We have had so many horrendously bad experiences in this area, that now, the very thought of needing to find someone to work on our home strikes dread in our hearts. We would rather have a root canal done! We used Washington Checkbook Magazine to find names of top-rated roofers for our area. Bill was one of the people we asked to do a proposal for a new roof. We had some storm damage which was discussed on his first visit to our home. He knew we were not prepared at that time to hire someone to replace our roof, but so we would not have any additional water damage, he offered to repair our roof the next day and allow half of the fee to apply to a complete roof job. And he didn't demand payment before his crew lifted a hammer! Wow! Bill came! Bill saw! Bill talked! Bill conquered! We had 2 more proposals scheduled when Bill came. But we pretty much knew after talking to him that he was our roofer. We just hoped his fee would not be higher than the other companies. It wasn't. Bill has an excellent crew who demonstrates the same professional, excellent standards as Bill does. Bill communicated with us every step of the way. He started the work when he said he would. He performed the job exactly as he said he would. He and his crew left our yard, deck and porch spotless. Our new roof is beautiful and working with Bill and company has been the most painless home improvement experience we have ever had. Thanks Bill, to you and your crew! Now, if you would just consider adding all the other areas of home improvement to your resume, we would have no trouble sleeping at night!

On May 13 2005 Bill and his hard working crew did a wonderful job on replacing our roof. It is now July 2, 2007 when I am giving my comments. Bill advised us to replace the attic fans with a ridge vent. We have saved hundreds of dollars in our electric bills. Bill also advised us to not get the 50 year roof shingle which saved us more money. Best aluminum flashing job I have ever seen around the chimmey. Bill and his crew also replaced three sky lights. Bill also advised us to install GutterStuff Foam to allow rain water to flow freely into the gutters and keep leaves and debri out. What a time saver! No problems at all. I rate Signature Roofing 5 stars!!!!!!

After interviewing a contractor, did you ever wonder what he didn't tell you or what you might have forgotten to ask? Truthfully, the only time that hasn't been my experience was when I talked to Bill Marshall of Signature Roofing about replacing my roof. Bill is all about information and communication, accompanied by a healthy dose of patience. From the informative website to the quality of the product and the competence of the crew, this is a thoroughly professional operation and a cut above the rest. What appealed to me was that Signature Roofing was small enough to have every aspect of it managed hands-on by its owner, that the work is done by a permanent, thoroughly trained crew, and that it has a stellar reputation. My experience with them supports that reputation as my new roof and skylight were installed in such a timely, efficient and professional manner that I am a confident and satisfied customer.

We have been in our house in Sterling for a bit more than 20 years and knew we needed a new roof installed soon. The process of calling various roofing companies, scheduling interviews with their "salesmen" and then getting them to reply back with an estimate seemed to take forever. Finally, the issue of Checkbook Magazine arrived containing ratings of various roofing companies. Picking the three top rated companies doing business in Loudoun County led us to Signature and Bill Marshall. After meeting with Bill at our home, and BEFORE even getting his estimate, I told my wife "we have our roofing contractor!" I now tell any and all that I can recommend the VERY BEST roofing contrator in the area. Bill and his crew began on time ( a BIG plus right there), did everything they said they would, cleaned everything up before ending their work, did almost no damage to my landscaping, and left us with a beautiful new roof. Thank Goodness I let Bill talk me into a completely different color than the one we originally chose, and by adding the dimensional shingles, we ended up with a completely new and very complimentary exterior to our home. Bill Marshall and his crew provided the finest service we have ever received since we became homeowners more than 35 years ago!

Bill Marshall and his crew are awesome! First, Bill Marshall makes arrangements to meet you and explains everything fully and completely. And if you didn't understand the first time he'll explain it again. The patience of a saint. When his bid came in it was so reasonable, but besides that we just knew from other roofers we had spoken with, that there was no need to look further. We had complete trust and reliability in Signature. We were so right! They showed up when they said they would. They took a day to install and did a wonderful job (I was onsite the entire time) and Bill was onsite the entire time. That is what impressed us both. That the owner took his time to be there to make sure the job was done correctly the first time. We couldn't be happier with our roof. They also cleaned up afterwards and left nothing behind for us to do except enjoy looking at a new roof and a job well done! So our rating is the best of the best! We had to get our roof and gutters replaced and so my husband and I had gotten a number of estimates from local roofing contractors - Pond, Katchmark, Northern VA Roofing and Signature. We would have had to sell our only child in order to afford the first two companies. With the third, the main contact, Ryan, never returned our calls. With the last, Signature, we thought it was too good to be true, but went with them anyway. Bill Marshall was awesome! He returned all of our annoying phonecalls in a timely manner. He explained every aspect of the job quite thoroughly. When the roof and gutter system were done, we discovered that he had even gone way beyond our expectations! His crew had been on time, cleaned up well, and worked tirelessly. I would hire Bill and his crew to put a roof on my treehouse, dog house, heck - even an outhouse! They are that good! By the way I am a real person and not some family member trying to drum up business for Signature. I will definitely recommend this company to my neighbors and friends and I'd dare say... even to my enemies!

A very professional proposal package was received containing optional materials. I was able to upgrade and add skylights and remain within my budget. Bill was in constant contact with me giving me updates on when the work would begin (due to a rainy spring). The work was completed on time with excellent clean-up. Value Roofing was recommended to me by several of my neighbors. Every one of them had nothing but the highest comments of praise for the quality of workmanship. I contacted Bill Marshall about giving me a bid for doing my roof. He was at my house later that very day and spent over an hour looking at my roof and evaluating the repairs that might be needed, such as: replacing damaged plywood and skylight. The other companies we had contacted for bids only spent an average of 10 to 15 minutes.I received the official bid from Value Roofing two days later and not only was his bid less expensive than the others, but Mr. Marshall also included choices and upgrades that the others did not. One thing I really liked was that in the bid a list of other addresses was included of jobs that had been done by this company so that I could drive around and look at the workmanship and speak to the owners about Value Roofing's performance. From the time of choosing this company to the completion of the job every aspect of his workmanship was performed at the highest level. At the close of every day he and his crew not only cleaned up, they also took a magnetic broom and policed the area for stray nails. Thank you Bill Marshall and Value Roofing for a job WELL DONE! PS I have also received many complements from my neighbors on how wonderful my house now looks!

From my first contact to the completion of the roof, Bill Marshall and Value Roofing have amazed me with their professionalism, superb customer service and great work product. A roof is a major home improvement, and I was in a big project with roof, siding and windows. Bill's expertise extended far beyond roofing and he was a huge help to me selecting colors, type of shingles, energy saving extras and even landscaping! He was patient as I tried to decide what color for a fresh new look (changing my mind more than a few times) and provided many addresses to view different colors and shingles so I could make a decision based on more than a sample shingle. The installation was on schedule and the crew was polite and efficient. The final product was beyond my expectations. I do have the best roof in the neighborhood. Talk about lucky! Received roof damage after a recent thunder-boomer, which tore the ventilation strip of the apex. Stumbling across Value Roofing was the lucky part. Bill Marshall and one of his crew (Gabriel) showed up during their lunch hour on the same day called, replaced the vent and went above and beyond securing flashing and replacing a second vent at no extra charge. The rate was reasonable, work professional, and company is one I will highly recommend.

When we had a question on the best color to compliment our brick and trim, Bill Marshall showed us several homes in the neighborhood that had brick and trim close to what we had. It was interesting what different colored roofing can do to bringing particular aspects of a house to light. His crew was very efficient and everyone had his job and knew what it was. When we realized that we would have to replace our roof prior to the sale of our home, fear entered our hearts. We were afraid of being overcharged and, in this day and age, having a poor quality job done. Value Roofing is a rare find in this day. The job they did was reasonably priced, quality product was used and the job was completed within 8 hours. The area around the home was spotlessly cleaned after the job was completed. You would have never known that a roof had been replaced that day. My wife and I highly recommend Value Roofing for any of your roofing needs.
